Week 3 Recap: Baltimore Ravens 17, Washington Commanders 7

In a tightly contested battle that echoed the intensity of a playoff showdown, the Baltimore Ravens emerged victorious over the Washington Commanders, 17-7, in a game that showcased grit, determination, and the undeniable talent of two franchises vying for supremacy in the RMNFL. The Ravens, led by quarterback Lamar Jackson, executed a game plan that balanced precision passing with a strategic ground game, frustrating the Commanders' defense throughout the afternoon.

Lamar Jackson was the star of the show, completing 18 of 23 attempts for 162 yards and a touchdown, showcasing both his arm strength and his ability to command the field. His connection with rookie sensation Zay Flowers proved pivotal, as Flowers reeled in three passes for 71 yards, stretching the field and opening up opportunities for the Ravens. Meanwhile, the Ravens' relentless defense, spearheaded by Trenton Simpson, smothered Washington's offensive efforts, forcing quarterback play that never quite found its rhythm. Simpson, with eight tackles on the day, was an immovable force, ensuring that the Ravens’ defensive strategy kept the Commanders at bay.

On the flip side, the Commanders star wasn’t in the air; it was on the ground. Rachaad White provided a glimmer of hope for Washington with a solid performance, rushing for 54 yards and scoring the lone touchdown that momentarily put them on the board. However, the team's inability to sustain drives plagued them, and as the clock ticked down, frustration mounted. Lamar's calculated execution, coupled with a defense that bent but didn’t break, marked the difference between victory and defeat for Washington.

This outcome leaves the Ravens with a thrilling momentum boost as they continue to establish their identity as contenders this season, while the Commanders face critical questions moving forward. With just one win in their first three games, Washington must regroup and chart a new course if they hope to find their footing in an increasingly competitive league. The Ravens, riding high on this victory, will look to build a winning streak, possibly positioning themselves for a deeper playoff run as the season progresses. Each team, marked by their own struggles and triumphs, now turns the page to Week 4, eager for redemption and glory.
